Surgery

Tomorrow morning, I’ll be going to the hospital for a surgery on the sole of my left foot. It’s just a minor surgery to remove a callosity, and I will be back home the same day. But I won’t be able to walk that much for at least three weeks. I went through the same process few years ago. I hope this is the final time.

Texturizing and lovely accidents

Today I continued working on one of my almost never ending “textured” paintings ;-) Layer upon layer…acrylic, charcoal, wood, mixed media… Took some pics during the process. I really loved some of the crops. They look like some dreamy landscapes that I could never paint before. Awesome accidents! Later, I’ll try going along that line as well. Two details from the unfinished big big painting.

Vote for a good cause!!!

URGENT!!! Please vote.

This is for the place [info]vulpine137s mom lives.

I need a favor. My mother lives in a retirement community, and they are currently enrolled in a contest to win a van for the community. Alot of the people living there (my mother included) can’t drive, so the community having a van to run people around to the store or the doctor or whatever is a very good thing. So, I’m asking nicely, please go to Allen Samuel’s Community Van Giveaway and vote for ‘Wildflower Place’ (#4 down on the list). No registration, no giving info, just a check and a click so some little old ladies and gentlemen can get a van. I would GREATLY appreciate it, if you can.

Thanks,
Vulpine

PS. Please feel free to spread around if you feel moved too. It would be appreciated :) Voting ends Thursday. Hurry up!

“Since it resumed serious military operations against the rebels last year, 315,000 people have had to flee their homes due to fighting. The government has forced some to return home in unsafe conditions against their will. Since January 2006, more than 1,100 “disappearance” cases have been reported. Almost all of the disappeared are Tamil men between the ages of 18-50, and in a majority of cases witnesses allege complicity of security forces.  ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….”

“According to a study by Johns Hopkins University, published by the British medical journal Lancet, through June 2006 an estimated 655,000 Iraqis were killed as a result of the invasion and occupation. Many more have been injured, and an entire society has been devastated. More than 3,400 American and other soldiers have been killed and nearly 25,000 injured. ………………………………………………………

Kitchen Abstraction :-)

I’ve been making some digital sketches. Making a digital sketch is the easiest/fastest way to get the compositions right if you’re in a perfectionist mood.

Images I took for these sketches looked nice as photos too. Thought it’s ok to share them here :-)

I’ll be back with a painting.(Pardon me if I take too long to come back; cricket should be blamed for that)
